I don't know if that's true (I never got the chance to ask). Ang pakiramdam ko, masyado atang literal yung pagka interpret. It may have been inspired and meant to describe many, many things as some songs are capable of doing. Personally, the song just makes me sad. It brings back memories of cold, dark, hopeless nights in the hospital bargaining with God and fate for just a little bit more time.
We found his notebook of unfinished songs and poems a few years ago. Maybe one day, one of my brothers will put music to the lyrics.
